Whether you are storing, disposing, treating or using wastes in England and Wales, it is necessary to comply with the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 (EPR). The type of permit you will require depends on the complexity and the environmental risk of the proposed operation / activities.
Our permitting staff have extensive experience of producing applications for new sites, variations and surrender for a wide range of sites including soil treatment facilities, household waste recycling centres, waste transfer stations, composting facilities, mobile plant and large scale waste recovery and disposal operations.
We can manage projects from providing initial informal advice and guidance on whether the EPR apply to you, and if so what type of permit or exemption is required, through to the preparation and submission of standard rules and bespoke permit applications for waste operations and installations. We can produce all the relevant supporting information for your application including; environmental management systems e.g. ISO 14001, waste recovery plans, site condition reports, risk assessments and closure plans.
We can produce Waste Management Plans in accordance with the requirements of the Mining Waste Directive.
In addition, we can maintain a dialogue with the Environment Agency throughout the application and determination period, from pre-application discussions to discussing draft permit conditions, to ensure that permits are issued in a timely manner without any unexpected or onerous conditions.
Once your permit has been issued we can continue providing advice on how to comply with your Environmental Permit. We can carry out environmental compliance monitoring and produce any necessary monitoring or annual environmental reports for issue to the Environment Agency.
