On behalf of George Tanner (Shalford) Limited PDE Consulting Limited have recently submitted a screening and scoping request to Suffolk County Council (SCC) for two minor extensions to Barham Quarry for the extraction of sand and gravel, the continuation of sand and gravel extraction and subsequent restoration using inert materials with associated access on land at Barham Quarry, Sandy Lane, Barham, Ipswich, Suffolk.
The screening and scoping request was validated on 18 June 2020. Barham Quarry is an established sand and gravel quarry with a long history of mineral extraction and associated activities.
The screening request will determine whether or not the proposed application falls within Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) regulations. A scoping response from SCC will inform the matters which should be covered as part of an EIA application for the proposed development.
