On behalf of Allen Newport Limited, PDE submitted an application to the Environment Agency (EA) in August 2020, to transfer and vary a waste operation permit.
Environmental Permit No. EPR/FB3435AL was issued to Middleton Aggregates Limited in May 2012 to allow the treatment, by crushing and screening, of wastes. Annual throughputs were limited to 30,000 tonnes per annum.
An application was made to transfer the permit to Allen Newport Limited and to increase the annual throughputs of wastes to 200,000 tonnes per annum.
In accordance with the timelines specified in the application, the permit was successfully transferred from Middleton Aggregates Limited to Allen Newport Limited in January 2021. Once the permit had been successfully transferred, the EA were able to progress the variation application. The final permit was issued in February 2021.
