Cavenham Quarry Proposed Concrete Batching Plant – Planning Application Validated

On behalf of our client Allen Newport Limited, PDE Consulting Limited recently submitted a planning application to Suffolk County Council for the erection and use of a concrete batching plant and associated infrastructure together with access onto the highway on land at Cavenham Quarry. The application also seeks retrospective permission for the installation of a weighbridge, weighbridge office and lighting column. The application was validated on 05 June 2025.

Concrete is an essential component in the building of new housing and infrastructure and therefore the demand for concrete is not expected to reduce, in fact it is likely to grow as the demand for housing and new infrastructure increases as set out within Government Policy. Should planning permission be granted it will enable Allen Newport Limited to support the local construction industry by generating a supply of concrete to the local area.
