It has been good to see progress at Wetherden Quarry in Suffolk. The new operator AggMax Limited have been undertaking a variety of works to get the site operational including an extensive programme of bund formation.
PDE also applied to the Environment Agency for an environmental permit for the treatment of waste to produce soil, soil substitutes and aggregate and a standard rules permit was issued in August 2013. PDE has produced a basic Environmental Management System for the permitted waste operations at the site.
It is hoped that production at the site will commence in the coming weeks once the various works are complete. PDE looks forward to continuing to work with AggMax to facilitate their continued operations at the site.
