The Environment Agency has issued an environmental permit for a new inert waste landfill and inert and excavation waste treatment facility to be located at Dollymans Farm in Rawreth, Essex.
The bespoke waste operation permit was granted to Sewells Reservoir Construction Limited (SRC) on 17 August 2020.
The permit will allow an old borrow pit, located in London Clay, to be restored and re-instated to agricultural use.
The total volume of waste to be imported to site will be around 140,000 tonnes per annum. Of the total amount imported, around 42,000 tonnes per annum shall be recycled and sold back into the market as a variety of products and the remaining materials shall be finally disposed of at the site in the course of its restoration.
