On behalf of George Tanner Shalford Limited, PDE Consulting Ltd are delighted to confirm that the Environment Agency (EA) have accepted an application for surrender of the environmental permit for Dyers Mead Landfill site.
The Site was filled with pre-Landfill Directive inert wastes in the 1990’s, and was recently restored with a final layer of waste under a variation to the permit.
It was necessary to install in-waste and perimeter boreholes and undertake an extensive programme of groundwater, landfill gas and surface water monitoring.
The final hurdle was a site visit from the EA to confirm that the site and related infrastructure were as described in the surrender application report, which included an in-depth audit of the monitoring infrastructure and the restored surface.
