PDE Consulting Limited recently prepared a planning application on behalf Sewells Reservoir Construction Limited (SRC) for the establishment of a concrete block manufacturing facility at Martells Quarry, Slough Lane, Ardleigh, Essex.
Planning permission was granted by Essex County Council on 14 July 2022.
The grant of permission allows SRC to manufacture pre-cast concrete blocks, which complements existing operations at the Site and utilises concrete manufactured at a concrete batching plant located on land adjacent to the Site which is supplied with mineral extracted from the wider quarry. Finished blocks are exported from the Site and sold to the local construction industry for use in a variety of construction projects.
