PDE are pleased to announce, on behalf of Bournewood Sand and Gravel Limited, that the Environment Agency (EA) have approved a Waste Recovery Plan for a site at Tilbury Point in Essex and in doing so have concluded that the importation of approximately 200,000m³ of inert and excavation wastes to construct a development platform constitutes a recovery operation.
In accordance with the latest draft of EA recovery guidance document RGN13 (May 2016) the EA requested evidence that the proposal would be financially viable if non wastes had to be used.
An application has now been submitted for a waste recovery permit.
