PDE recently submitted a planning application to Suffolk County Council on behalf of Aggmax Transport Limited for the installation and use of a washing plant for the recycling of inert waste at Lawn Farm Quarry, Wetherden.
Alongside this application, a separate Section 73 application was submitted to vary the main planning consent at the Quarry to enable the reconfiguration of bunds within the existing inert recycling area to allow for the siting and operation of the proposed washing plant.
The applications were put before Suffolk County Council’s Development and Regulation Committee on 17 December 2020 and the committee members resolved to grant planning permission.
The resolution is fantastic news for Aggmax as the proposed washing plant will enhance their existing operations at Lawn Farm Quarry. The processing of inert waste through the new washing plant will enable Aggmax to push material up the waste hierarchy, providing a valuable source of secondary aggregates to the local construction industry.
